by Rachael Brenneman

As the holiday season approaches, Mansfield locals and visitors can look forward to a plethora of festive events that will bring joy and cheer to our beloved city. As a longtime resident and realtor in Mansfield, I am excited to highlight some of the top holiday events happening in and around our community in 2024. So mark your calendars and get ready to make some magical holiday memories!

Santa’s North Pole Express is once again making stops in Grapevine, known as the Christmas Capital of Texas®. This enchanting train ride filled with holiday decorations and activities is open from November 29 to December 30. Families can hop aboard and experience the wonder of Christmas as they journey to the North Pole to visit Santa and his elves.

For a more laid-back holiday activity, head over to Waxahachie for the Christmas Tour of Homes on December 14 and 15. This event gives visitors a chance to admire five beautifully decorated historic homes while enjoying a kids program with a fun activity book and treasure hunt.

If you’re in the mood for some spectacular Christmas lights, a drive through the Interlochen Estates neighborhood in Arlington is a must. From December 16 to December 25, take a tour of 200 houses decked out in dazzling holiday lights and decorations, sure to put you in a festive spirit.

For those looking for a family-friendly holiday show, look no further than “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth. From November 19 to 24, watch as the grumpy Grinch learns the true meaning of Christmas in this heartwarming production featuring beloved songs from the classic story.

On December 7, head over to the Man House Museum to experience “Holiday at the House.” Take a tour of the beautifully decorated 1870s home and enjoy festive refreshments while crafting homemade presents for your loved ones.

The Mansfield Independent School District is also getting in on the holiday cheer with their Toys for Tots event on December 4. Enjoy holiday performances, photos with Santa, and a Toys for Tots drop-off parade at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts.

For a musical experience, attend the Mansfield Philharmonic’s “Home for the Holidays – A Christmas Celebration!” at the Farr Best Theater on December 14. This fun-filled pops concert will feature Christmas classics and other holiday favorites.

Families with little ones won’t want to miss the Candy Cane Hunt at McKnight Park East on December 23. This merry scavenger hunt, hosted by Mansfield Parks and Recreation, is sure to bring a smile to every child’s face.

And of course, no holiday season would be complete without a tree lighting ceremony. Join us at Mansfield City Hall on December 6 for the Hometown Holidays Tree Lighting, followed by a special drone show. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday season with your community.

Last but certainly not least, experience the magic of ICE! featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. This wintery wonderland is open from November 15 to January 5, and is the perfect place to create lasting holiday memories with your loved ones.

As a realtor in Mansfield, I am proud to be a part of a community that truly knows how to celebrate the holiday season. I hope these events bring you and your families joy and happiness this holiday season. Happy holidays from the Brenneman Team!
